Orchard Lane Chocolate Peanut Butter is made of handpicked, slow roasted, stone-ground peanuts. There is no compound chocolate used, instead we use pure cacao bean powder that is blended with the peanuts and just a tad bit of organic jaggery.

FAQ - But why? Why not put the nuts in a high flame flash roaster that is used commercially? The answer lies in the science behind it.  All nuts and seeds contain phytic acid; an anti-nutrient that protects the plant but makes it difficult to digest the minerals from the nut in our body. So traditionally, pulses and nuts/seeds are soaked overnight and the water is discarded, this way the phytic acid gets removed and it is good for digestion.

However, nut butters can not be made from soaked nuts. Another way of gently removing the phytic acid is gentle slow roasting. This is how traditionally peanuts were roasted in sand or salt.  

 

Our nuts are slow roasted for hours, this helps to keep the nutrients intact and at the same time lends a beautiful aroma to the nuts.
